Simple Installation - Works Great
Saw some reviews elsewhere complaining about the instructions. The package included a stick-on template to drill and cut necessary holes. All necessary instructions appeared to be printed directly on the template. I used a high speed metal cutting disc to cut the square hole, and detailed the top edge exactly as drawn on the template. The supplied hardware may have been adequate but I substituted larger / heavier clips and used some No.10 pointed screws to make the attachment easier. My stove pipe was heavy gauge proper stove pipe, so there was no need for additional holes or hardware to get a good seal with the provided gasket material on the two side flanges. I did use some high temp stove cement to seal the top and bottom edges. This fan instantly solved my problem of slight blow-back when opening doors to add logs. It also makes starting a new fire heat up much faster. Once the fire is established I can either leave the fan on low or shut ir completely off. I thought there might be some leakage around the fan shaft. It appears to be a large hole, but smoke goes right up the stack with no apparent desire to come out that hole. Helps start fires.
Occasionally during outside mid temp weather or low barometric pressure, my add on furnace would be slow to start or hard to get heat out of. Occasionally it would also smoke out of the door when checking fire or adding wood. On the furnace jacket I mounted and wired a switched outlet to plug this into, easily reachable from front of furnace. When the chimney draft meter shows low draft, 2 or lower, I switch it on with the variable speed left at half way up on the dial. Seldom do I leave it run all the time but I can get a fire going, turn it off and walk away often in half the normal time it used to take. The motor does get hot running at any speed, not from flue heat. It also leaked smoke at the curved housing joint that was hard to see without a flashlight. I sealed it with black high temp silicone gasket sealant, that is hard to see after applying. It does seem a bit loud but the sound is covered over when furnace blower comes on. DANGER DANGER
Template to cut out makes the hole toooooo big. the instructions don't say anything about half the items in the box. there's no power cord with it and they don't tell you that until it gets to you and you have to supply that. there is no bottom mount and the top mount plate it flat not round like the pipe it goes on so you have to bend it to make it work but since the hole they have you cut first being toooooooo big what do you do, well I sealed it up with exhaust tape but not sure how that will work out but time will tell. the idea is good but a very poor design.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Solved the smoke problem
This blower solved our smokey stove problem. Even on the lowest speed, it provides plenty of draft for a nice burning fire with all the smoke exiting through to the outside.
