I Detect a Truly Great Mystery
it had been a decade since i first saw True Detective, so when i saw the listing price for the first season, i HAD to get it! we enjoy 2-hour movies with a snappy script with interesting plot and engaging characters, but when you get a SOLID season, hour-long episodes, building up to a TRULY incredible conclusion? it's perfect. i'm not the biggest fan of either McConaughey or Harrelson, but they really knock it out of the park. rare form - NOT TO MISS.

Love True Detective!!!!
I loved this series. The acting was wonderful and it was a great story - really kept you engaged. Think this is some of the best work that Mathew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson have done. Both me and my husband were totally addicted to watching. Have also watched the 2nd Season and loved it as well.

This is the real thing!
This is absolutely the best one season mini series I have ever watched. The acting is top notch and the story is great! It takes you right along for a ride as 2 detectives try to solve a case that eventual concludes over 10 years later. It is immensely intense and down right creepy at times, just full of suspense. It's like watching an 8 hour movie that's hard to take your eyes off of. I actually watched it twice to make sure I didn't miss anything and it was great the 2nd time. If you like suspenseful thrillers that are very intense then this is the mini series for you. It starts slow as it should and continues to build and build until the end where it gets wild. It's great, see it, you won't regret it.

this a great way to binge watch an excellent TV series!!! also has some very good extras that make the series even more entertaining!!

One of the best
This was an excellently crafted crime thriller. shocking ,disturbing,enthralling,engrossing. While made for cable, it rivals many films of this genre made in Hollywood. Excellent interplay between Harrelson , and McConaughey. Congrats to the director , and the writers.

Unbelievable
The script is sometimes tough to follow, but this is one of the best performances I've ever seen. Characters are fleshed out, tough, gritty, and entirely believable if your from this area. Couldn't be better.

The Wire, The Sopranos, Breaking Bad and True detective, will remain the top dogs of television.
True detective is much like the movie Seven. It’s absolutely amazing. It will keep you on your toes till the end. And while the second season didn’t add up to the first, no need to worry. True detective season 1 is it’s own show and is seperate, hence not even saying season 1 on the cover just “True detective” absolutely amazing show.

Great writing
I loved everything about this, the plot was original, Harrelson and Mc Conaughey played pff each other wonderfully, I only wish the season was longer. Not that it was rushed, it was just that good

Watch it for the Southern Gothic touches
Well written and well acted, great dark southern gothic miniseries. The vendor I purchased from - secondsale is my go to for dvds now. No problems in 3 orders

True Detective series one Review
I highly recommend the series 1 of True Detective starring Matthew Mconahay and Woody Harrelson. Full of excitement and suspense. The acting is very good!
