Great Musical but Bad Production
"Company" is one of my favorite Stephen Sondheim musicals, but this DVD of a mediocre production leaves a lot to be desired. The musical itself is a bit dated, with some references that are no longer relevant today, but the songs are still wonderful to listen to. Unfortunately, this recording is flawed by some actors who can't sing, an overpowering orchestra, and a sound quality similar to what a parent might record at a Junior High School performance. The acting is fairly good, with some big name actors, but they are not "theater" actors, and so do not project as well as they should. This is a Sondheim musical, which means that the words to the songs need to be listened to, but on this recording, that is almost impossible. Whoever was the lead sound technician, or maybe the film editor, really did a very poor job of balancing out the actors voices and the orchestra.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Great purchase
