Works Great When Use Properly
If you use it properly, this tool works great. Watch the how-to video on Park Tool's website. When removing a tight bottom bracket cup using the tool, it must be clamped tightly in place on the side of the cup. If you don't do this, the tool will slip. On the other hand, if you do clamp it like you're supposed to, you'll have enough purchase to hit the wrench with a hammer if needed to loosen the bottom bracket. The video shows the use of a head tube clamp to clamp the wrench down onto the bottom bracket. I don't have one of those so I used stuff I had laying around instead, a 3/8" carriage bolt, a couple of washers, a nut, and a chunk of angle iron with a 3/8" hole drilled in it. Worked great. Remember that the drive/right side of the bottom bracket rotates clockwise to loosen - righty loosey, lefty tighty.
