Adequate
Always buy two. I had lost two of these so far. The good; Great for older hands like mine. Very convenient with or without scope mounted. You can set it up on right or left. Good, positive friction even in cold weather. The bad; Can't seem to keep them on the rifle. They loosen and fall off. Even with the locking dual screws. For this reason I cannot give 5 stars. The one I am mounting now, will have threadlocker applied. I am going to assume this will resolve the issue. If the threadlocker works, the item will deserve 5 stars. I believe it to be of good value. A note of CAUTION: If you want to lower your cocked hammer manually, I suggest having your thumb on the hammer and not the extension. It is not that your thumb will slip off but the offset over the center of the hammer fulcrum fools you on the amount of tension needed for safely lowering the hammer. Practice with an unloaded rifle to get the feel.

Not pleased
I paid extra to have the hammer extension delivered ASAP but when it arrived, it came with the wrong size set screws. I called Uncle Mike's, and they offered me one at a "reduced price". I already paid full price for one that didn't work! Why would I want one at a "reduced price" that also may not work? They finally sent a "free" replacement that had the proper set screws, and it works fine now. Lots of headache and time wasted for an $8.00 product. I have had good luck with other Uncle Mike's products in the past, but...

Hammer Extension
much easier to access and cock the hammer. Eliminates sharp edges of the hammer. Peep sight made it hard to reach the hammer but the extension fixes that. Only issue is very small set screw to set the extension so it requires all the pressure it can stand to stay tight from the hammer fall.

Product as described.
I only recommended it because the product is what I said above, unfortunately I was looking at a couple of different sites and mistakenly ordered this one. My rifle was made in 1984, so the product won't work on it. My bad.

Great addition to scoped levergun

Not as good as factory Marlin but best after market option
If you can't find or afford one from Marlin directly (vintage $65-$100), this is the way to go. Fit perfectly on my 30AS. Solid, tight fitting, and quality screws that didn't marr on install, pretreated with thread lock.

Hammer extension
This fits nice and it quite helpful if you have a scoped 336. Makes it alot easier to use the hammer with gloves on also.
