Early Criterion Release of a great film
Great film, nice extras, transfer is OK- there is room for improvement here but that depends on the quality/ condition of source materials. I suspect it's the best they could do at the time (2001), but I'm sure it could be further cleaned up and sharpened using modern computer transfer techniques discovered since that time. Superb Romantic Comedy/Drama
What a delightful film. Romance, comedy and drama with loads of atmosphere (makes you want to be there) and never overdone in any respect. Outstanding acting from Wendy Hiller, Roger Livesy, et al. Absolutely charming movie!
