Must have item for cockpit with basic instruments
Works great easy navigation and flight plan entry. Using it on VFR only Cessna 172 so it is very useful at night for navigation. Will probably try to get new battery from garmin as the current battery lasts about 5 hours per charge. Seller was prompt and courteous

Great value
This is an older model in a long product line. It is a little dated, but perfect for use in a ultralight aircraft! A certified pilot and aircraft may need more bells and whistles, but it is perfect for the low and slow fliers! Unit is very nice and was not abused. Great value!

Item exactly as shown. Older model but is brand new. GPSMAP models are exceptional devices. Easy to use and reliable in flight. Totally satisfied buyer!

Fun and interesting to use.
Unit is a little heavy and bulky to be mounted on the control yoke of a plane.Took some time to learn it's systems but, it seems to be reliable and accurate. Still looking for someway to mount it for flight.

I wish Garmin still made the 196
The Garmin 196 has superior view ability and utility with a simple and reliable user interface. It's only problem is that Garmin stopped making it. Drat.
