SpongeBob's Boating Bash is a go-kart-styled racing game set in the underwater world of the animated series. Some modes of play encourage reckless driving or demolishing competitor's vehicles with well-placed collisions. The game uses colorful, flat shaded 3D graphics that mimic the look of the cartoon. The action is displayed in the upper screen, with touch-sensitive controls below. Players race from an angled, top-down perspective, using the stylus and touch screen to steer. SpongeBob, Patrick Star, Squidward, Sandy, and five other characters from the long-running Nickelodeon show are available for play, along with a wide choice of vehicles and more than 100 customization options. More suited for spongebob fans.
I have the Wii version of this game and I loved it. I didn`t consider getting the ds version, but now I wanted to experience it myself. So I got the game for my birthday, and while it did not disappointed me, it`s still inferior to the Wii version. I don't mind the controls. It expects you to use the touch screen, but other people don`t know that you can also use the a and b buttons, as well as the d-pad. You only play on race tracks (except for the multiplayer mode) unlike the Wii version. There`s a lot of other stuff, so if you want more information, you can see videos of the game online.
