While inspired by the platforms and ladders of Donkey Kong, Pick Axe Pete! doesn't much resemble the gameplay of Nintendo's arcade classic. As the titular miner, players dash about horizontal platforms with a pickaxe, bashing rolling boulders for points. When Pete's pick breaks he will be crushed by the rocks unless he ducks or jumps away. When boulders collide, they release another pick, or a key allowing Pete to enter one of three on-screen doors to advance a level. Rivaling K.C. Munchkin! in terms of popularity, this superior game produced its own national competition: (The Pick Axe Pete Pick-Off) at the 1982 World's Fair.

pickaxe pete
works good and is fun, when it works; does not come on sometimes and have to take out and play other games, or wait until plug game system back in.
