A remake of a 2009 Wii title, Muramasa Rebirth slices its way onto Vita as gamers take control of a possessed princess named Momohime, or the fugitive ninja Kisuke, and go on a quest to find 108 cursed swords and defeat the demonic minions of an evil shogun. The action is fast-paced and highly stylized, with players engaging in furious swordplay, but they must also keep a watchful eye on their weapons, because blades can break, and they take a long time to heal. Gamers can carry three different katana with them, and switch to fresh swords on the fly during epic boss battles.<br><br>The game offers respites from the action in the form of sword forging, conversations with villagers, health-restoring trips to the hot springs, and a cooking mini-game. Characters grow stronger as they progress through the story, and Muramasa offers three different difficulty levels to provide a challenge for gamers of all skill levels. Vita users have the option of downloading four additional characters and scenarios, each offering a new storyline and new enemies, and an extra mode of play that focuses more on the use of special abilities than on hacking and slashing.

Gorgeous art style, slice and dice action game
The gorgeous hand drawn art style is one of the things that attracted me to the game, but honestly, the game play is just as good. You feel like a super hero collecting more and more powerful swords, leaping through the forest and on sandy beaching dispatching enemies. I love the mythology behind it, as well -- the whole thing is steeped in Japanese feudal culture and lore. The bosses are so creative and each individual and challenging, some look like fine art prints come to life. Of course, this is the signature style of the game studio, Vanillaware, the artists behind Dragon's Crown and Odin Sphere. The game is adult, too -- be ready to visit brothels and hear cheeky NPCs make lots of double entendres. Voice acting is great with English subtitles. If you are a Vita fan, Vanillaware fan, or enjoy slicing and dicing sword action beat-em-ups with a little platforming thrown in, then I wouldn't hesitate adding this to your collection.

Gorgeous Game!!
I've wanted this game since I saw a demo on YouTube. Now that I have it, i must say it was well worth it. Characters have so many moves and the gameplay is smooth. Not to mention the amazing graphics and flawless music. A must-own to all PS VITA owners..

One of my favorite games on the Wii so very cool to have an updated version for the Vita. Manual and case are I good shape, no complaints. Thanks again!

Great journey with beautiful back drops
Over hard to find game and great to have in the collection. If your a fan of samurai and action RPG this game is for you.

Muramasa Rebirth for PS Vita, brings back memories of the Wii instalment!
This game is totally awesome it is what your missing if you own a PS Vita and never had on the Wii. I highly recommend this title I had before on Wii and missed game I never kept my Wii around!
