  • Dusty's big hits in the 1960's

This is a cd which contains the original tracks on Dusty's first LP. It also contains bonus tracks that Dusty probably wouldn't approve of as they are not the recordings that were meant to be released to the public but alternate tracks she set aside in the studio. Most of the tracks Dusty released to the public were double tracked vocals. She did this to fatten up her sound and she was after the Phil Spector American sound. Here we are given single track vocals. Any Dusty fan knows how much Dusty slaved away in the studio on her recordings. She produced all her own records with a little help from Franz. She knew what she wanted sound wise and was a perfectionist to say the very least. But I have to say that I really love having the rare alternate recording tracks. I would agree with Dusty that the ones she released to the public are superior to the alternate tracks here on this LP. Since I'm a big Dusty fan, I want to hear anything she ever did, even demo tapes.

  • Dusty has better CD's.

the difficulty with purchasing CD's is that you don't always get the full list of songs, so it may be hit or miss. I found just a few songs that I remembered as her hits. She did many 'covers' in this CD..early Motown stuff. a great voice, but the Shirelles are the Shirelles!
