The 82 mm filter thread of Nikon 300 mm f/4 AF easily accommodates most of the lens-protective filters that guard the lens from dust and graze. Control the amount of light passing through this telephoto zoom lens, using the nine diaphragm blades. The bright f/4 to 32 aperture range of the Nikon 300 mm f/4 AF enables you to capture images in dimly lit conditions. This multicoated Nikon lens reduces reflection, improving the contrast of your images.

    sharp, soild pro lens

    This is a fabulous lens that focus fast enough on my Df, dispite some reviews. Very sharp with good contrast and great color, even wide open. It also has great bokeh for portrait work. I paid 1/8 the cost of a new one they now sell after fixing a small dent in the front filter ring. This is a professional lens with glass that far succeeds the consumer zooms out there in all aspects. It is very solid all metal and I like the f stop ring that my Df can use. The drop in filter also has a rubber seal that my older 600mm does not have. It is small also and not too heavy. No VR or motor inside to break. I never need VR since most of my shooting is 500/sec and above to stop the action and the Df performs well in low light.

    Long Telephoto on a budget.

    On a budget and shooting outdoors this version will work fine. This version does not have a built in motor and relies on the drive inside the camera body.

    An older Nikon Nikkor 300mm, but Nikon sharp! Not all auto, but no problem for experienced photographers.

    Love my lens

    This 300mm f4 is solid and well made lens all metal parts has a little weight to it! I used it for fleet week to pics of the stealth destroyer, i missed using it for the blue angels but next year. very sharp ill put it through its paces next weekend and the U of Delaware game
