I have the version with the thread hole mounting option and it is not as stable as I would like it to be. I expected it to be a bit more snug and tight after mounting it so the speaker doesn't move as much and would feel better fastened, but it gets the job done. One critique: the plastic cover that goes to base is very ugly, cheap and not the same that is on the pictures here. I didn't even use it.

I paid a ridiculous price for just a wall mount for this thermometer. I found the exact Amazon listing, and this seller was charging about $25 more. Thankfully I did get a refund, but no one should be buying from this seller. They are violating eBay's TOS by fulfilling orders via Amazon. (And I did manage to buy the actual thermometer itself used from a different seller for the same price).
