Great old-fashioned romantic comedy!
Great old-fashioned movie. In Black & White, this film from 1945 tells the story of a female magazine writer (Barbara Stanwyck) and a WWII sailor (Dennis Morgan) who meet because her publisher (Sidney Greenstreet) wants the publicity. She writes a food and home feature and knows nothing about either. Her uncle is a chef (S.Z. Sakal) who saves her in the kitchen, and an architect who wants to marry her (Reginald Gardiner) provides the home. The sailor has recently been rescued from a ship wreck and is, of course, young and handsome. As in all good romantic comedies from the past, there's no swearing, just good clean fun in an improbable, yet sweet, story.

My Favorite Christmas Movie
Discovered this movie almost 30 years ago. Got a vcr tape, then a DVD. Loaned it out and did not get it back. So happy to have a new copy. This story has a Currier & Ives backdrop. It is a perfect example of playing out a romance without sexual content. The story is set in WWII, the time that my parents were the age of the main characters. Barbara Stanwyck was a beautiful woman. I most love Uncle Felix! Comedy, romance, and Christmas. I tell my family that Christmas can't happen until I watch it!

Classic Christmas movie!
Beautiful good old fashioned Christmas movie. Truly a timeless classic, perfect for the entire family!! Me, my wife and daughter watch this at least once for the Christmas season. I thought I would finally purchase it on DVD. Lovable characters, a funny plot and lots of laugh out loud moments and yet a very romantic movie. This is the best price out there that ships from the US. I got it in no time at all!

Enjoyable movie
This is a great Christmas movie because it has a little drama, a lot of comedy and an interesting story line..3 This is easy to follow. With all the pressures of the holidays, I watch this movie because it helps me relax and not think of everything I have to do

Christmas in Connecticut
A sweet Christmas movie, old-fashioned, but funny and a joy! Good to watch with the entire family Laughs, romance and holiday cheer all rolled into one. Remember it was made in 1945, so it's a nice look at a time that has passed!

Christmas In Connecticut DVD
Purchased as a gift to give to sister. I have the same one purchased years ago. We are classic movie lovers. Barbara Stanwyck was a wonderful actress. Lighthearted format, ease of watching, relaxing, enjoyable movie. My order was received as date expected. Price fair.

Outstanding classic Christmas movie!
One of my favorite all-time Christmas movies -- full of comedy, romance, Christmas cheer, and traditional values. SZ Sakall as Uncle Felix is my favorite character. "Everything is just hunky-dunky!" He does all he can to help Barbara Stanwyck out of the jam she has herself in. You'll love the pancake flipping and the rotating babies. An adorable movie.

My Favorite Christmas Movie
A Comedy for the whole family. This is Barbara Stanwyck at her best! With a Great Cast and Terrific Story about a Woman Write and demands from her boss. There is Romance, Humor, Sleigh Rides, Flapjacks and a Gorgeous Connecticut Farmhouse.
