    The best 1950's Sci-Fi ever made...

    MGM's rare and early excursion into the 1950's Science Fiction genre set a standard that frankly will never be matched. The special effects are incredible, the acting top notch, the story line engaging with touches of humor and one of the most memorable scores in the history of film. The Blu-Ray showcases all of these highlights and includes many added features including every role that the "star of the movie" Robby the Robot- ever had. There have been rumors of a remake for years...save the effort Hollywood - this film is as good as it gets!

    A Vintage Classic Served Up in BlueRay Quality - Worth Every Penny.

    Having Forbidden Planet available in Blue Ray format is a special treat. This vintage scifi gem (one of the best if not THE best of it's era) is presented in HD clarity of color, sharpness, and audio. You'll want to re-live this movie experience in the best possible quality because something this good really deserves the BlueRay HiDef treatment which in this case makes a significant difference. I highly recommend adding this to your collection.

    Great Blu-Ray Widescreen edition of a dated but excellent 1950s Sci-Fi Classic

    Great Blu-Ray Widescreen print of a 67 year old classic! Although this movie is horribly dated now in terms of gender attitudes (a real cringe-inducing product of its time), the production values, special effects, props, character interaction and story were very high quality for its era, and is still quite enjoyable. Includes entertaining extra materials for the Sci-Fi cinema enthusiast.

    Classic film.

    This is a historically important movie. Gene Roddenberry called it "the first episode of Star Trek." I saw it in the theatre when it first came out. A lot of the actors became big stars. I wanted to see it again and I like the commentary tracks you get with CDs. // So many people associate Nielsen with "don't call me Shirley" that its nice to remember he was also a romantic action hero.
