Classic comedy well written
One TRUE comedy classic. It will never be shown on television again but if your no snowflake and like a good laugh then get this series. All the actors are fantastic and it is VERY well acted.You can just tell the whole cast enjoyed doing their parts in the show. But you have to hand it to the great Windsor Davies as he just steals the show. The bad thing is that many of the snowflake generation will just look at the show and find fault in everything. This was written in the 70's and based at the end of the second world war. So if you love well written classic comedy then sit back and enjoy, and loose yourself in the jungle

It ain't half hot mum boxset.
I had forgotten how good the writing and acting was in this series. Forget about the pc brigade who would see this erased. One minor niggle is there is no episode guide booklet or insert with this boxset. A quick search sorted that out. Otherwise, I'm glad I bought this. Excellent.

A side splitting stroll down memory lane
Before we laugh at others, we should all be able to laugh at ourselves and this series has enough irony to keep things on an even keel. This side splitting stroll down memory lane is from a time when "some people" were not so easily offended. It has strong characters who make this farce very funny indeed.

Up the jungle
I loved this programme when it aired in 70-80s love Windsor Davis still makes me laugh eventhough in 21st century it's not correct to say some of the things that are said in this boxset, has to be taken into context that the world has changed since made. All the old comedies are the the best, written by the best Croft and Perry . Well worth the money

A TRUE CLASSIC
This programme is so funny i cant stop laughing at it. Typical classic 70,s Brittish humour.In todays PC world i do not think it will ever be back on the television but not malicious or racist as it makes fun of every character in it.A true classic

Exellent dvd set.
A superb set which brings back many happy memories of watching the show when it first came out with my late Grandma. I can watch these episodes over and over again and never get tired of them.

Blast from the past.
Watched this years ago in my youth, and although it’s considered very unacceptable today, it’s just a sign of the times. The characters are comical, and no malice intended with this humour from the 70’s. Wouldn’t appeal to today’s youth though.

good acting fun and of a time when people were able to tell the difference between a light hearted comment and being rude or offensive, a time that would be lovely to have back
