Bergera Boxed series
Although this edition should have the full length ones it features the clipped episodes in my set for contractual reasons, the discs are good quality and the picture and sound reproduction is good with clear picture and sound, given that some of the old film has slight issues in a few rare places mostly on the intro part with he theme music. Bergerac is a classic TV series and set in Jersey, it followed on from Shoestring, and these both have theme music by George Fenton, the music is top quality and catchy. It was shown around 1981-94 and still pops up on cable channels. The cast on the Bergerac series are really good actors and a number of lesser known players who became famous in other roles later also show here, you know when you spot them. Great nostalgic viewing and good writing, ... Down Memory Lane!
I loved this show when I first saw part of it many years ago and as John Nettles is still a favourite of mine I decided to purchase the series. Despite the filming not being on the same standard as today it is still a delightful show and I can highly recommend it. Another thing that I like about it is the lack of obscene language which seems to pervade all the latest TV series. I think it could teach teenagers that one can express oneself without the use of profanity. Enjoy! Granny of Six. Hours of entertainment from Bergerac.
The Bergerac box set arrived on time and the individual dvd’s all appear in excellent , unmarked condition. Having watched one series since purchase, I am sure the complete collection will give us hours of entertainment and the changing scenery of Jersey over the years and as it is now will give additional interest.

About 90 episodes in this boxed set. Should keep me going for a bit. Major continuity error at the beginning of series one episode one when a British Airways Trident morphs into a BAC One-eleven but let's keep the faith and enjoy the days before mobile phones. We are all gunning for Jim Bergerac who has an uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time despite his attachment to his conspicuous but underpowered Triumph Roadster. I found the optional subtitles helpful because the dialogue is not always easy to hear. Remember to switch your TV over to 4:3 size when watching these, and remember to switch it back afterwards for when other members of your family want to watch today's widescreen TV. Exactly as stated.
It's just as good as I remember from the original showing. A joy to watch something well made, entertaining and engaging with no adverts, trailers or flashy editing. We haven't watched TV for years for this very reason.
