Hasegawa is my first choice in pastic model kits
I have been building plastic models for decades. Hasegawa is my favorite brand. The fit is usually very good, as is the level of detail, even in the smaller 1/72 scale. They are also sufficiently popular for third-party accessories to be available, whether I am looking for unit-specific decals, photo-etched or resin-cast detail parts, precision masking materials, or supplemental weapons. I find these to be among the better-value kits, right in between the mediocre quality intro-level kits and the very pricey advanced-level kits.
