Road Trip From Hell
This movie is one of my all-time favorites, but I hated the original 4:3 presentation on DVD (as was the theatrical release). The Blu-Ray is in 2.39:1 ratio format, which is a much more engaging and entertaining presentation. Breakdown moves along at a fast clip, and even though there is almost zero character development, the suspense makes that irrelevant. It's a good thing the running time is only 109 minutes, because it is impossible to leave your seat once you start watching. The bad guys have absolutely no redeeming features, and Kurt Russell does a great job of portraying a common Joe who has to step up and overcome the formidable odds against him. Get the Blu-Ray and get down with Breakdown!
