As listed in the title, this piece is vintage. It is nearly 100 years old. As you said, the chip that you saw is on the bottom of the platter, and only visible when turning it over. The chip cannot be seen from the top or front, while it is on display or in use. I did apologize for missing it, but it does not effect your intended use for a birthday party or its beauty.
