I use these with the brand new KO 86 Optimus with all the other upgrade parts and it fits well without spinning freely under gravity. The shape is reminiscent of the 86 movie scene when Optimus charges into the fray and takes down the Decepticons in his way before his fateful meeting with Megatron.
