built sturdy
My grandparents had a similar shredder and a 20 gallon crock they would make sauerkraut in. I ended up with the crock and not the shredder. I can not imagine doing this much cabbage without this shredder. It looked like new after I was done with 25 heads. I plan on making a block that fits inside the sliding box that has ears that stop it just off the blades.
