Blake Edwards's adaptation of Truman Capote's classic novella is ideally cast with Audrey Hepburn in the role of Holly Golightly. The free-spirited gamine darts about New York, feted by wealthy men drawn to her megawatt charm and elegance, hoping that the party will never end. After "shopping" in front of Tiffany's window, she meets aspiring writer Paul Varjak (George Peppard), and they begin a platonic friendship. "Sponsored" by an older woman (Patricia Neal) whose interest in the young man is more than literary, he can identify with her experience better than most, taking it upon himself to protect her from the worst aspects of city life. But she seems to need little protection from such friends as incarcerated mob boss Sally Tomato (Alan Reed), who pays her to carry messages to Sing Sing. With her infectious joi de vivre, she helps Paul break through a paralyzing case of writer's block. But when the genial Doc Golightly (Buddy Ebsen) appears in New York in search of Holly, the sources of her gossamer lifestyle suddenly become clearer. Edwards's lighter-than-air romantic comedy, set in a fantasy New York, rides on the irresistible charm of Hepburn at her peak, as well as a memorable score by Henry Mancini. Although George Axelrod's screenplay is as different from the original story as George Peppard is from the young Capote, the film succeeds on its own terms.

    Best Audrey Hepburn movie

    This by far is the best Audrey Hepburn movie ever both me and my cousin Kechette love Audrey Hepburn and this is our favorite movie of hers we love the song Moon River. I also love George Peppard who plays the neighbor and falls in love with Audrey’s character. Mickey Rooney does great in playing Mr. Yunioshi. I rate this 5 stars. My favorite scene is where Audrey and George run out of the store wearing mask

    So Audrey!!!

    What's not to love about this classic? It's the story of a party girl looking for Mr. Rich and actually finding her heart instead. The entire movie is great but of course my favorite part is her relationship with "Cat" and the end of the movie brings me to tears. There is something special about Audrey Hepburn. I loaned out a previous copy but it was never returned so I bought another copy. It has been one of my favorites to watch over and over again. When I need my heart strings pulled, & need to remember that time in history, I watch it. (I also recommend getting a copy of Jennifer Love Hewitt as the life of Audrey Hepburn) Another stellar movie. Audrey's life was fascinating, I had no idea as a child, she was inadvertently part of an underground movement against the communist nazi ...

    Breakfast At Tiffany's murmurs Audrey Hepburn name forever!

    Audrey Hepburn is fabulous! She puts the class in the word classy! A crazy mixed up story that draws you in until you're part of the story and hoping and praying for the proper ending for Holly Golightly! Audrey is almost synonymous with Tiffany's. Just as there is probably not a woman alive that doesn't equate the song "Moon River" with Audrey Hepburn. I am reminded of the fact that every woman in the world knows the words to "Can't Help Falling In Love" by you know who! This is a warm wonderful movie that brings both smiles and tears to all!

    Great movie, great actors, great story!

    I consider this to one of the greatest movies of all time! Great acting, great music, great script! Moon River is one of my favorite songs of all years! And, to top that off, rendered by my favorite actresses of ALL time.

    Wonderful Audrey Hepburn Movie

    Wonderful DVD movie which I remembered from my youth. I so much enjoyed seeing it all again. Perfect research for my 1:12 scale dollhouse miniature room box of Holly Golightly's apartment.
