    The price was perfectly reasonable for the product, and the book arrived promptly and in great condition—like new, as described: the slightest bit of noticeable use and that was it. The seller wrapped it in literally 6 layers of protection (cardboard, bubble wrap, waterproof, etc.), which seemed like overkill but was much appreciated. My wife was so impressed that she demanded I leave a positive review immediately—and she was right. I’d be happy to do business with this seller again.

    The seller shipped the book quickly, tracked for added security and it arrived on time. Around 3 weeks which isn't bad at all. The book was exactly as advertised by the seller.     Powerful and Hard Hitting

    If you ever wondered just how powerful the media is, this movie explains it. Whether it's 1957 where the newspapers, radio, and television are king, or 2021 where the Internet has taken over, it all comes down to having a following of Believers. The other point this movie makes is that Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely. Burt Lancaster is the sophisticated version of Andy Griffith's role in A Voice in the Crowd. Both are very scary movies showing that the human condition hasn't changed much. It's an excellent movie out of which was born the 2002 film Phone Booth starring Colin Farrel, Kiefer Sutherland, and Forrest Whitaker.

    A Seriously Excellent Film Made For Serious, Film Fans

    "The Sweet Smell of Success" is a serious drama about a powerful, newspaper columnist and his corrupt press agent. The columnist is kind of a bully and uses his power of the press to intimidate people. He hates his sister's fiancé and will do anything to destroy the man. The press agent suggests a way and it could lead to murder. This movie is considered to be film noir gold. It has a powerful cast and the direction is taught. I recommend it to all, serious film fans. This MGM studio DVD looks very good, even on a big screen TV.

    Sweet Smell of Success

    The acting and the film score are excellent but the two main characters are not what I would call likable. They are great in their roles. A sleazy columnist and promo guy. It’s a very engaging movie. It will keep you on the edge of your seat.

    Doesn't live up to the hype; the print is only fair

    This movie is considered by some to be one of the best film noirs, but I found all the characters unappealing, the story was very weak, and motivations for what little story there was, was unconvincing. This was a big disappointment.
