Product Information
In roles made famous by their famed SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE skit, Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi star as Ellwood and Jake Blues in this extremely entertaining and successful comedy. Upon Jake's release from prison, the brothers are reunited and visit the orphanage they grew up in--only to discover that it is in danger of being shut down by the county for failure to pay taxes. With a little help from James Brown as a revival preacher, the Blues Brothers are divinely inspired to raise the $5,000 that the orphanage needs to stay open. On their mission from God, they must reunite their old band and raise the money by playing various gigs around town. The wild adventures of the band include dodging evil neo-Nazis, playing in a rowdy redneck bar, and narrowly escaping the crazed Carrie Fisher as Jake's ex-fiancée, who is out to see him dead. Finally, the boys have to get to a gig at the Palace Hotel Ballroom and deliver the $5,000 to the county assessor's office--leading to one of the most wild and hysterical car-chase smash-ups in film history. John Landis has spiced this wonderful romp with fabulous rhythm-and-blues numbers from such greats as Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Cab Calloway, and Ray Charles.Product Identifiers

This Edition Has 2 Versions Of the Film! Still As Funny As When It First Was Released!
I love the expanded version of the film! It makes the film 2 hours and 25 minutes! Wow! It has a lot of extras if you flip the disc over (side B on the box) as well as a couple on the front side (A) of the disc. I haven't been able to find this movie used, not even at flea markets here in SC. The price was fantastic, too. I couldn't pass this deal up. And the dvd came wrapped in plastic. I VERY HIGHLY recommend this 25th Anniversary Edition to everybody who loves 80's movies, especially the comedies!Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

The Blues Brothers is one of the best movies ever made.
From the opening the comical genius of the piece rises to the top. Then from the meeting of the brothers you know something big is going to happen. Then it does. This movie is one of greatest geniuses of film making ever put to film. A musical in a sense, an action movie in a way that never stops from the point of the story evolving from a seemingly obscure theme to a grand crescendo of madness that no movie has ever attempted or pulled off in the way this great comedic masterpiece by the great John Landis who also directed another of the great movies of the early 80's 'The American Werewolf in London' Another screen gem that has not ever been equaled in its effect on the imagination of horror and comedy fans. I suggest this one for the family and all ages. A timeless classic in the vein of the great classic movies that have ever made. Classic movie!!
I loved this movie when it came out decades ago, and I love it now. Incredible musicians in the show. Goofy lines that Akroyd and Belushi pull off beautifully. Language is rough for kids, but they hear that kind of language almost everyday anyway.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu
