THIS TURNED OUT TO BE A GREAT ALBUM - LOST TRACK OF THE BAND AFTER KERRY LIVGREN MOVED ON TO A SOLO CAREER WITH CCM BAND "A.D." - HIS SONG WRITING SKILLS ARE MISSED A BIT HERE BUT WHAT A GREAT CHANGE - STILL GOOD MUSICALLY - AND THEY ARE TIGHT HERE! IF YOU LOVE PROGRESSIVE ROCK AND THINK KANSAS IS DEEPER THAN "CARRY ON" AND "DUST IN THE WIND" YOU WILL ENJOY THIS ONE - HAVING ALL THE SOLO PROJECTS FROM KERRY ALSO ADDS A NICE DIMENSION TO ALL THE SPIRITUAL SIDES OF KANSAS - A BAND SEARCHING FOR MEANING IN LIFE. the whole concept of this album and 12 songs is based around Neosha Falls Kansas, a small town wiped out by flash floods during World War II and the after effects. Songs are somber, magical and moody! Raw talent from an amazing band still playing today. This cd has so many different sounds and Steve Walsh elevates this with his voice and hitting on all notes! A MUST OWN!!!! 5 STARS!!!!

In the Spirit of things by Kansas
I found this album to be a departure from Kansas’s signature sound. No violins, but Steve Morse on guitars and Steve Walsh on vocals make this LP a great one! Produced by Bob Ezrin of Alice Cooper/ Lou Reed/ Pink Floyd fame.
