    One of the best books we've read!

    My wife and I read it aloud to each other and thoroughly enjoyed Cather's ability to describe scenery, events, and in particular the feelings of the main character. Her language frequently caused us to look at each other and smile or in some other way admire it. We highly recommend this book.

    Catholic New Mexico in the 1800s

    This is an amazing story about New Mexico in the late 1800s told theough the eyes if a French Priest who became archbishop. An interesting look into that era and place.
