I purchased this cord and it was more expensive than a lot of others but it has great reviews that it works. It’s made decently well but like everything it’s made out of plastic. Hopefully it will work on my ford. Shipping was great and put it right out and got it in two days. I came see a little bag brand new with the literature.

A fantastic piece of kit
The OBDLink EX Scan tool, in conjunction with the Forscan program is an excellent piece of kit. It has more functions than I will probably ever use. I was looking to diagnose my ABS/ESP light was on. I guessed it was speed sensor related. My original Chinese manufactured OBD scanner was able to give a generic ABS fault code, but nothing more. The ScanTool OBLink EX has the ability (On my Ford Ranger and other Fords, and more than likely other manufacturers) to do so much more. In my case it clearly told me which wheel speed sensor was at fault. I was able to easily set up a graphical display, plug it in, and drive, and actually demonstrate the wave signals from each sensor to prove which sensor it was. It gave me information on the state of everything else as well, such that I have now ... The OBDLink EX Scan tool, in conjunction with the Forscan program is an excellent piece of kit. It gave me information on the state of everything else as well, such that I have now gone out and bought 2 new Glow plugs for cylinders 1 & 2, which I was informed by the Scanner are both open circuit (That answers why the car was a bit lumpy on start up. A really great bit of equipment. If you own a Ford with a OBD plug, then this is the one to get. And download the Forscan program for free. Don't forget to download the drivers as well (if necessary) I would highly recommend this. Don't think you will save any money buying one of those.cheap Chinese switchable ones. You will probably throw that in the bin, and still buy one of these.

Only Works with ForsCAN
I purchased this to see more modules with ForsCAN. I was using Red OBDLink SX, I could only see a few modules. With this I can see many more modules and make some modifications I could not with the OBDLink SX. I wanted to turn off the PAM Stop / Start. I set it to disable. This is to stop the engine when stopped, like at a red light. When the brake is released, the engine starts. That is the worst thing the government forced car manufacturers to do. It did not work; it still stops at a red light. Fortunately, my Ford Transit Connect has a button to turn it off but it has to be pressed every trip. I also wanted to set the Turn Signal Flashes SCCM from 3 to 7 flashes when the turn signal leaver is push slightly. I could not do that. I do not know if it can be done. The one very ... The one very disappointing thing was: Instrument Cluster (IC) Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Key Programing Transponder key The version of ForsCAN I have does not have that feature. I cannot program another key to turn the engine on or open and close the doors. I can use the OBDLink SX with OBDWiz on my Toyota and Ford. The OBDLink EX only connects to the Ford with ForsCAN. It will not connect to the Ford using OBDWiz. It will not connect to the Toyota using the OBDWiz CAN is a method of communication. Controller Area Network (CAN)

Cable was shipped very quickly and packed well. Connecting cable to computer did not require drivers. For use with the program I used, a firmware update was available and was applied successfully. Before using the cable, I was informed that the cable could operate at a higher rate which was appreciated. Initially, the programming failed and I was troubleshooting each aspect and thought at one point that this cable could be defective, but further research showed that I wasn’t doing something quite right regarding the physical location. I would definitely recommend using this cable for car programming. It saves a ton of money in dealer and locksmith fees. Just make sure to get all information before you start. Finding a solid YouTube video is highly advisable as well. Cable was shipped very quickly and packed well. Connecting cable to computer did not require drivers. Solid performer
This scan tool is recommended to be used with Forscan which is the reason I bought it. Works well. No switches to mess with just a couple LED lights to indicate operation. Fast response and no batteries to worry about.
