A power-packed historical drama starring Gabriel Byrne as Earl Haraldson and Travis Fimmel as Ragnar Lothbrok, 'Vikings' is an Irish-Canadian television series following the adventures of medieval Scandinavian warriors. Written and created by Michael Hirst for the History Channel, 'Vikings' was filmed in Ireland and premiered in March 2013. 'Vikings: Season 2' comes as a three-disc DVD set and includes 10 episodes. Special features include audio commentaries, the featurette “A Warrior Society: Rites of Passage,” and background to imagining and executing battles. The series was inspired by the sagas of Viking Ragnar Lothbrok, a notorious and legendary Norse hero and the scourge of England and France.

    Very engaging drama!!

    I was hooked just from the opening! I do not have cable, so I checked out season 2 from the library. I have now bought up to season 4 and hope to continue. The scenery and the boats are magnificent as is the acting. Some of the execution scenes are a little hard to watch, but it's a very good series overall.

    Must see!

    Riveting, and action packed. You really get a feel of what the Vikings were like. They were passion and power driven for the livelihood of their people.
