    Excellent Atlas

    Having a hard atlas is much better than trying to deal with maps online and I can't say enough good things about this one. It's a great size and has a lot of info like mileage between cities, population, and highlighted scenic routes. Also, I prefer a stapled binding instead of the coil type but that's personal preference.

    Handy to have in car

    While not as detailed as individual state maps or as up to the minute as some GPS receivers, it does not depend on batteries or electricity, less subject to breakdown and can be a very handy reference source in relatively compact form. Great backup for a broken GPS or one you forgot if not a permanent mount in your car.

    Good map

    I ride my motorcycle out west every year from North Carolina and in the morning I use the map to route the way I want to go as I can't look at my phone while I'm riding. And I don't want to! I bought that map because my old one didn't show changes in the roads that have happened. Phone apps are great also, but with the paper map you can look at the whole state at one time and decide what you want to do, I'm not interested in following the fastest ways, I like to find strangest ways.

    Not Lost

    I use a GPS when traveling and most of our long drives from TN to FL, eastern NC, OH, PA, MO we have done several times but if circumstances force you to leave the Interstate I like to have a good Road Atlas to help me find the best route to get to my destination. I always carry this in the car when we travel. That way I'm not lost.

    2017 road atlas

    Replaced my 2006 issue, same quality and easy to use also large enough to see for older people, keeps you from using a smart phone as the maps cover larger areas.
