I scrape out every last trace of items such as Greek yogurt, peanut butter, tahini straight from the carton/jar to the plate, and when it’s all gone, virtually nothing is left. You consume all of your product and prep for recycling is mess free. A spoon can’t do that. They are small enough to scrape food from slotted spoons, forks, fiddly implements like tablespoon measures, whisks and mixer blades.
