    Magnificent Epic

    A magnificent epic, restored to Scott’s intended 3 hr. version. Don’t judge the film by the studio’s butchered 2hr. theatrical release, which is muddled and confusing. The full version is stunning, visually and thematically. Excellent performances. A beautiful score.

    Roadshow Edition is the True Edition

    The roadshow edition gives this epic new life and depth. A complex story in which characters must find their true selves amidst ever shifting currents of powers and cultures. Great action sequences and deep storylines. Plots and subplots that will stick with you a long time.

    Director’s Cut Gives the full StoryF

    As the review title says, this version fills in the gaps left in the theatrical release. The theatrical version was cut to fit a certain time frame sacrificing the story’s continuity. This version made sense of what was unclear in the other version. Definitely worth the price I paid.

    Always Good...better with these added scenes

    The movie is good. I had this cut before and liked it. I was glad to be able to find a copy on eBay. I am a huge fan of the cast and the storyline. This one is better than Napoleon which was disappointing.

    a lot of actual history, here.

    great scenes of jerusalem at the time of the crusades. provides rich history of Balian, who defended jerusalem against a much greater saracen army led by salahaddin, perhaps the greatest general of an arabic army. of course, we have a fictional account of the romance between Balian and the queen, but that's something to be expected. the actions of the various barons, the rivaly between the christian factions is accurate. as far as the acting goes, it is excellent with Orlando Bloom giving, as usual, an excellent performance. costumes are accurate - battle scenes are excellent. Balian successfully defended jerusalem, forcing salahaddin to grant release of citizens and knights freedom to leave to cyprus - at the cost of 1 dinar for each person. the religious conflicts within both the ...
