Beginning in 1941, this collection features 32 rare short films used for training, propaganda and education. In addition, the collection contains the feature-length VICTORY THROUGH AIR POWER, a vital propaganda film that has not been released since its 1943 theatrical debut. Special features take the viewer inside Disney's contribution to the war effort, including material from the set of VICTORY THROUGH AIR POWER and interviews with Disney leaders, such as Roy Disney.

    Kriegspropaganda

    Die dunkle Seite von Disney: Donald Duck und andere Charaktäre werden für alliierte Kriegspropaganda mißbraucht. Deutsche und Japaner werden als Lachnummern dargestellt, die zivilen Opfer des Bombenkriegs werden unterschlagen.

    World-War Walt Disney

    On the front lines with Walt Disney is a compendium of patriotic cartoons produced during WWII. Keeping with the already established characters of Donald Duck and Goofy for example the cartoonists have developed sympathetic stories geared to the average American heading off to war. Thoroughly entertaining and amusing, I was thrilled to imagine joining my matinee heroes to make the world secure again.

    Tremendous Window into WWII America

    The movies and shorts on this DVD provide an unparalleled window into America during WWII. The feature-length "Victory Through Airpower", which is included, was a remarkable non-commercial effort on the part of Disney to influence public thought towards a more efficient means of prosecuting the war.

    Great film!

    Although it’s hard to find because of political correctness, if anyone actually bothered to watch the film they would find a charming story where Uncle Remus is a beloved character. In fact, the country would be better if we all had an Uncle Remus in our lives. His wit and love show through as Christian values. I suspect it is because of those values the Left hates the film. It is obviously a period film that shows life in its reality. No one supports slavery but that was the reality of that period. For sure there were those who treated their slaves badly. However, to deny that there were those who treated their slaves as family is unrealistic as well. This is a great film hidden away by cowards. Disney, release this film. We need it!
