Sony's popular baseball sim returns with updates to familiar modes, new ways to play, and classic hardball action in MLB: The Show 16. The Road to the Show returns to let gamers guide a player from the minor leagues all the way to the Hall of Fame, but the action now begins with the new Bowman Scouting Day in which prospects get evaluated. Users can now play through full series without returning to the load screen, add training points in between games, earn new consumable and passive perks to upgrade performance, and use the new ShowTime feature to slow the action in critical moments.<br><br>The card-collecting Diamond Dynasty mode also returns, with players building a 25-man roster, upgrading their team, unlocking legends, collecting Stubs currency, and competing against friends in local or online action. The new Battle Royale mode is a double-elimination PvP tournament in which gamers partake in a 25-round draft and then compete in three-inning games to earn rewards, while the single-player Conquest mode resembles a classic turn-based hex-grid strategy game, with fans as the primary resource. Each turn lets players gain new territory through attacks, capture new fans from other teams' strongholds, reinforce territories with new fans, and shift fans around the country.

    Fantastic and fun to play!!!

    Great game for baseball junkies and passing fans alike!! The controls make sense and are easy to remember. The pace of play is good and if u want a quick game, you can simulate anywhere from a half inning to a full one. Season/ fantasy/ individual games are all easy to set up and play.

    Take me out to the ballgame

    The game is everything I expected and much more. I've owned many baseball games over the years and this one is top 3 in everything gameplay, graphics, options, etc. If you enjoy playing sports games I highly recommended MLB the show.

    Good copy, hitting tough

    Functionally the game copy is just fine, works as intended. The hitting mechanic is quite a challenge, tough to judge the depth of the ball with swing timing. But maybe I will figure that out in time. Pitching I am already at All-Star+ on adaptive difficulty.

    Good baseball game for the older consoles.

    The Show series plays great on the old and new consoles. Best sports game series bar none!!

    Great game, still worth playing in 2024.

    Great game. Quality graphics, fun gameplay, easy controls with the analog sticks. The players are from a few years ago, but so is my PS3.
