How 'Bout Them Dawgs! tells the behind-the-scenes story of the University of Georgia's 2021 college football national championship season from the perspective of the man in charge: Kirby Smart. In addition to offering his perspective on coaching, his defensive philosophy, the importance of recruiting, each of the fifteen games, and the celebrations that followed the last one, Coach Smart also tells a bit of his own story that started in Slapout, Alabama, in 1975 and ended at the height of the college football world on a January night in Indianapolis. From the opening-game victory over perennial-power Clemson University to the undefeated march through the mighty SEC to the discouraging loss to the University of Alabama in the SEC Championship Game to the Dawgs' eventual triumph over that same familiar foe in Indianapolis, Coach Smart and Loran Smith team up to provide an intimate look at the first team to win a college football national championship at the University of Georgia in more than four decades.
