This still good looks good!
I'd almost forgotten about this series but spotting a screening on Rewind TV I still thoroughly enjoyed it, prompting me to get the DVD. Nicely done by the regrettably defunct Network, all episodes are well restored and very entertaining. John Alderton's timing is excellent and whilst there is no doubt that the series suffered after he and Penny Spencer left, this remains a very enjoyable show. Good value.

Still funny after so long
Despite being made in 1968-72 it is still entertaining. Parallels can still be drawn between the pupils then and now (sometimes quite tenuously). As a current secondary teacher I have seen lots of “5Cs” and so this show does make me laugh at times.

Great comedy
A funny comedy series which includes the movie. Great funny characters and a different look into a school that shouldn’t be run.

A Bit of Nostalgia
Good, nostalgic fun. 'Please Sir' was a sentimental, hard-Londoners-with-hearts-of-gold derivative of the movie 'To Sir with Love' - though John Alderton's character was white, middle-class and naive. They made too many series and it certainly lost steam as it went on - and 5C began to look like the oldest teenagers alive.

Made me smile
Takes me back to the days when comedy was simple and clean, uncomplicated and happy. At nearly 77 and alone it makes me smile and remember.

Learning curve?
Loved the series's with the original cast. After that it lost it's charm.
