Runs rings around some other recordings.

15 hours of a great pleasure

Wonderful sound recording of a magnificent performance.
This is better than being in an opera house! The orchestral sound is rich and open and you can always hear the singers. Most recordings are of live performances and there are always limitations and compromises. I hope I remember correctly that this was a studio recording. Solti is one of a handful of conductors who can combine control of the vast structure of these works with attention to detail and emotional expression. The singers are mostly wonderful. The Ring in a new Box
This newer edition of Solti’s “Ring” is much better than the original CD issue. The transfers are “de-hissed” and make for great listening. The packaging is attractive and it was considerably cheaper than my first one!Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu
