After plugging in at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, Bob Dylan's break with the folk scene was complete. The ensuing sonic assault caused pandemonium among the crowd, including an apoplectic Pete Seeger, and ruptured Dylan's standing among many of his longtime fans. This collection of Dylan's performances at the festival, taken over three years and filled with plenty of never-before-seen footage, charts his rapid evolution as an artist. Beginning in 1963, THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR captures Dylan playing the folk and protest songs that endeared him to so many of his generation--including "Only A Pawn In Their Game," "Chimes of Freedom," and "It Ain't Me, Babe" (with Joan Baez)--before he turned toward a more abstract songwriting style, coupled with a forceful rock 'n' roll sound, that climaxed in a frenetic, electrified performance of "Maggie's Farm," and "Like a Rolling Stone" in 1965.

    A must to the liked the new Bob Dylan movie

    A must to anyone that liked the movie that came out to see this for the real thing you will then see actually that Bob is better than the actor in the movie. The Joan Baez is pretty darn good though, and that the character the Ed Norton character is amazing. He plays that.

    Bob Dylan a Songwriting Genius

    Full song videos of Bob Dylan's three appearances at the Newport Folk Festival in 1963 , 1964 and 1965 . Picture and sound are GREAT . It is nice to watch one of Americas GREATEST Songwriters near the start of his career in the early nineteen sixties .

    An Echo from the Past, When Dylan Changed US Folk Music, Then Went on to Change Rock. And most of it is great to see - until Dylan is on stage with most of the Butterfield BLues Ban, and they murder MAGGIE'S FARM. It is unlistenably bad. He then does an encore with an acoustic guitar that's fabulous. The interview with documentary filmmaker, Murray Lerner, is very nice to see.
