Unknown period gets a chance to reassess why David was soooo goood!
There are lots of David Bowie live albums (another 5 to be released on vinyl, just announced) but this album comes from a unknown transitional period between Dimond Dogs and Young Americans. Two very different Albums. At worse his voice is a bit harsh but at best 60% of the songs have not been released from this period and you can tell David is really throwing himself into this 'soul' part of his career. What would an audience have thought of these songs having only just got DD and not yet heard YA's I wouldn't know - but they are great versions with great swing. Special mention must go to Mike Garson and his 'band' arrangements as they have great chemistry and a freshness that later tours will miss (and one of David's largest collection of on stage musicians/singers) So glad to have it as a piece of hidden history.

Great album of David Bowie's Philly-Dogs show! (A dream come true!)
Excellent document of Bowie's last leg of the Diamond Dogs tour, morphed into the Soul Tour, or the "Philly-Dogs tour"...the album sounds great!...and if your a true Bowie fan (as I am) you'll LOVE it!, nice packaging and photo's inside the gate-fold cover. This album is a dream come true, highly, highly recommended!

Depends what you want
Due to the sound quality - listenable but not stellar - the album acts more like an historical document than piece of art. For David Live lovers.
