Must read for information on the Chinese in America
Well written and for a "history" book, it reads fast. It is unfortunate that immigrants and minority Americans have to face such unfair situations including discrimination, exclusionary laws, false mob mentality fueled by unfounded accusations... Comprehensive and objective
This book offers much insight into the history of Chinese in America and includes objective (as much as possible) reporting of various events of historical significance in both China and the U.S. which shaped behavior.
