Really Nice Small Animal Fencer but Not for Horses
Decent fence charger but a bit small for large animal like horses. Our horse are well trained by the more capable chargers on our other fences so they don't mess with the fences protected by this unit as it does have enough output to let them know it's on. As recommended by the manufacturer, go with the PE5 model or larger if you're using this for horses or cattle. The 2 mile/8 acre branding is misleading as the shortcoming is more a matter of output energy than fence length and the PE2 just doesn't have enough zing to discourage horse size animals with heavier coats. Dogs eating the rose garden...like every day..
Not any more... nor are they even getting near it... It was all fun and games until it bit the hell back. Most hilarious thing I have seen in a long time.. Great for my english mastiff
My 200 lbs mastiff kept jumping the fence. I installed this unit and grounded the unit to the fence thinking the concrete and steel posts would suffice as a ground. Later find out that it's not. I could hold the wire and barely feel it. But my dog did luckily touch the grounded fence and the wire and has since stopped trying to jump the fence. Make sure of your ground connection
Once I figured out a good ground connection it worked very well. I rigged an insulated top line on the positive and wired to a chain link fence on the ground to prevent a dog from jumping the fence. Wouldn't shock me
My field is only 2 acres at the best. I worked on this directly with a Patriot US representative. I added another ground rod, being rebar. Was told that needed better ground rods. Purchased galvanized rods and used better wire to the unit. 20' away I could still grab the wire. Never got it to work. This was my second unit I tried. The whole issue was I had a older unit working there fine, showed 5k volts at end of wire, but was a noisy unit clicking. very good unit for its price.
Seems to be a well-built unit that works just fine. Would like some kind of --maybe---beep alert that it is shorted, but that would really not be expected on a low-priced uint. I am happy with it. My dogs don't like it much, but then that's why I got it!Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Reliable little unit. Hot enough my dog won't even tease it.
Purchased this basic unit because of it's price and ended up more than satisfied with it's performance. I "threw" this setup together with some plastic stakes 24" this is a city lot. Where th e outlet was wasn't close to real shelter so I just put the unit on the ground face up. It has rained alot lately and then even more rain. But the best thing is how our dog has responded. She knew something was up and smelled it but had to touch it... Needless to say she respects this little box. No more running out into the road and she still gets to play in the yard and I worry a little less.

A good way for garden pest control.
This is a great tool for keeping dear away from your expensive plants without actually hurting them. A neighbor has been doing this for some years with great success. I put 2 of these in to protect garden beds in front and backyard areas. Works around the clock with very little power consumption. The only downside is having stakes supporting a wire around my yard and having to be a little careful not to touch it. The shock is annoying and not harmful. Don't waste your money
Not really happy with this product. Supposed to work on 2 miles of fence (or wire). Getting a good indicator on box but fence is not hot. I am using a fence checker and have grabbed fence wire. Should have bought better unit.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu
