The "Fourth Season" of the original series is well worth the price
This four-disc set includes all 22 episodes of the animated Star Trek series, as well as a few extras (making of the series, links to various live series, etc.) They are less than 30 minutes each, but have almost all the original actors providing the voices; part of the fun is picking out James Doohan's and Majel Barrett's additional voice work. Many of the scripts had been developed for the original series but could now be expanded with more detailed background and less-humanoid aliens. Adults who enjoy Star Trek will enjoy these as well. My kids like that they go fairly quickly. Capturing these in reruns is almost impossible, so the DVD set is a great buy.

Another season of Star Trek.
While the original series ended after only 3 years on the air, a few years later it came back on the air as an animated series. It was just as good as the live-action one And you could do things with animation that would have not been able to be done as live action, or would have been too expensive to film. I am thrilled to own this wonderful collection of the adventures of the Starship Enterprise and her wonderful crew. They are like watching old friends, a family on screen again.

Like seeing a Season 4 of real Trek TOS!
So many of what Roddenberry wanted to show in Star Trek: the first captain, Robert April - a married captain of the Enterprise! The iconic episode yesteryear shouldn't have spoken and so much about it! Also the first time they moved the Vulcans from being non emotional to emotional people practicing controls. New races are introduced and we get a lot of sequels to Classic episodes such as the tribbles!

Star Trek the Animated Series
If you are a fan of TOS, you will enjoy these animated episodes. The animation is not the highest quality but they were made in the 70"s. All the original characters do the voices and the story lines hold somewhat true to the originals. If you are hungry for more TOS, this is what you are looking for. I bought a brand new set off Ebay. Somehow, disc 3 was scratched, but that's not the fault of EBay, nor the seller.

Perfect title!!!!
As good as the live action series!!! I didn't know how engaging an animated series could be!! I wish the series had a longer run!!!!

A Must for Original Classic Star trekies
It is said that there were 79 original, classic Star Trek episodes. And if you are a fan of that series, then only 79 episodes was nothing but an unfortunate total for such a brilliantly created and produced program. And that is why the Animated follow~up series is a great bonus to all of the original episodes. Because it is essentially like having another 22 in addition to the 79. The Star Trek trait and nature of the original sci~fi series is maintained, as well as the original characters and voices of sci~fi series. It is just in animated form. But that is an equitable trade for the gain of 22 more episodes.

Great stories, Animation is meh.
The animation is lame but the stories are very good. If there was a 4th season of TOS this would have been it. The cool thing about the animated series is that James Doohan does many of the aliens that are introduced in the animated series. Most of the main actors voice their original roles except Chekov. He was apparently left out of his character because they were too cheap but does direct on a couple of the episodes.

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! If u like orginal Trek, go for it
This was a great surprise! up until this time, I had only seen more troubles more tribbles, so I hoped this would be great.... and it was!!!!!! I will always love the original show, and am sad that it ended at three seasons, but this really helped fill the hole of the show being cancelled before the writers got to show all their ideas. LOVE IT!

Really Happy
Star Trek fans will not be disappointed. I thought they could have done more with the coloring (A few, if not all of the water monsters are red.). The stories are interesting, credible, and hold one's attention. I did not know the original series was on air for only three years. This series makes me want an animated version of all the Star Trek shows I watched, Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. I would definitely recommend it.

Not silly. Very relevant to any fan. So good!
I could not believe how good this series was. You almost forget its a cartoon at times. Of course there is some campiness, but nothing more than the live action show. I was thrilled with this, and grateful for more of the original series adventures.
