If you’re ready for a challenge with a retro feel, you can be ready for one of the most difficult games on the NES, Solomon’s Key. With 41 standard levels and 15 secret ones, this difficult action puzzle game requires you to overcome significant adversity to complete the game and win. In Solomon’s Key NES, you take the role of the wizard Dana and seek to defeat demons and restore light to the world. With arcade game moves that range from creating to destroying blocks, the game rewards lateral thinkers. As with most NES games, there are no saves, but you can record your progress by means of cheat codes that let you jump to the end of the last level you finished. However, this doesn’t work for the secret levels. You can take in the vintage views and stretch your puzzle solving skills to their limits as you unlock the key to this puzzle genre classic. Some of the challenges in Solomon’s Key include unlimited enemy spawning, challenging level designs, a countdown timer, instant death from any physical contact with enemies, and limited ways to kill enemy characters. In addition, it’s easy to render the level unwinnable by accident as you play. The main levels are divided into groups based on the 12 Zodiac signs. If you find the seal for the constellation in the last room of the group, you’ll access the secret bonus room for that constellation. Additional bonus rooms are Page of Time, Page of Space, and Princess Rooms, which only occur if you’ve found the seals of Solomon hidden in the main levels of play. Solomon’s Key was developed by Tecmo in 1986, and like many other games was also released on other games systems, including the 3DS. Solomon’s Key was ported to the Commodore 64 and Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1987. It also appeared on the Sega Master System in 1988. The NES version of the popular game was also released for the Wii Virtual Console in 2006 and later on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U Virtual Console. This item is the original 1987 Solomon’s Key by Tecmo for the NES.     They shipped it out fast. The packing was great. I do wish it was in the description that it didn’t come with a cord as I would have purchased one but I had to purchase it after I received the music box and had to wait 2 additional days before being able to officially turn it on. I did contact them and they did quickly respond. I do believe I got a good deal within my price range.

    Nostalgia at it's finest

    A blast from the past! In my honest opinion this game is still as good, if not better, than the day it was released. The 8 bit graphics add to the nostalgia of the game but takes away nothing from the game play itself. If you are looking for a fun yet challenging puzzle game this may be a good fit for you.

    The hardest NES game you will ever love

    Action puzzle game that is sometimes more puzzle and sometimes more action. Can you solve every room? Like all the best games it looks easy until you try it! When you become addicted to this game I'm not responsible for the consequences! Consider yourself warned!

    lots of quick action

    one of my favorite games, wish they had an American version of the strategy guide instead of Chinese version.i have beaten game many times but missng out on a lot of secret items do to I can not read Chinese language.very hard game to play..

    probably the most fun and challenge ive had is this brilliant game! definetly a top 5 game of all time. very addicting. if you haven't played this game, go out and get it!
