This is a superbly produced model, with beautifully printed regimental crest and name plates on the sides. Optional etched plates are included, but mine remain in the box. There is space in the nose ends for a small sugar-cube type speaker, or a slimmer version could be housed in the roof space. Modellers with workshop milling facilities could, with care, amend the internal wiring and machine the inner casting to provide apace for a larger speaker. The inner casting provides weight for good haulage power; a recess is provided to house a decoder for DCC operation, for which there is an 8-pin socket on the circuit board. Lighting is not fitted in my model, which is probably an early example.
