Amazing, mysterious & beautiful album.
I bought this album from Katie because it promised to be more her own creation than her first 3 more 'poppy' albums. I was not disappointed, the songs are magnificent in scale and concept, you can feel Katie's Georgian roots entwined inside the music. Melodies are very strong, compelling repeated listening and on a good stereo, the first play, especially the opening 2 tracks, was absolutely mind-blowing. Katie shows a new maturity with her singing on this album, she seems freed up to be herself, expressing what is important to her in life. There is a sense of deep spirituality throughout and the accompanying musicianship is first class. The production is deep, clear and enthralling, the collaboration with William Orbit completing his renaissance.
