The wall anchors are so long that the expanding part ended up in the space between the walls, so they weren't very secure even after driving in the screws. One of the screws broke in half while driving it into a pilot hole I made in a stud (solid wood board behind the sheetrock). The screws are made of very poor quality metal, not steel.
