Helps more than just second gear.
While this does have a lot of surface area to hold second gear really well....my biggest reason is the benefits to third gear. This servo really helps the weakest link in the old 4L60/65Es....the 3/4 pack. As it replaces the factory third accumulator it really helps time the second pull-off/third apply reducing the 3/4 pack burn. Works great, but hard to install on cars.
