Seams to me that the conector that goes ...
Seams to me that the conector that goes on the adjustment on my telescope is kind of loose does not fit real secure. I think the connectors a little too big for the post that it goes onto and it would look way better. If instead of Philip had screws you use Allen wrench screws

Meade cables for 497 Autostar
Good cables and connector. Only works with a DB9 serial port. Can be used with a USB to serial (RS 232) connector. Make sure it is Windows 10 compatible. Otherwise Windows 7 will work, or older laptop with DB9 serial port.

Works fine for updating firmware on my Meade LX200 ACF AutoStar 2
I used this with My Meade 16" LX200 ACF w/ the AutoStar 2, and it updated the firmware just fine, using the MEADE updater found on their website. (You need to get the other half of the cable assembly for your specific telescope, the one that plugs into this DB-9, and then to the RJ11 on the telescope base)

Fits and Works GREAT!!
Fits and works on my Meade ETX 125 great! Perfect replacement for the OEM focusing knob. Simple and easy to use to focus.

Would not use with a telescope.
Very poor quality. More like something that you would find at a dollar store. Needle is slow to point to North and the slightest movement will move the needle off of North. Would not recommend this compass to anyone.

Got it fast.
Product was as described. I used it for about 30 minutes and removed it from my etx 90ec. My focuser isn't smooth enough for this to work.

Great product for older windows connections
After purchasing this which is used for connecting to your telescope i actually found a usb to 4 pin cable without the sb232 connector so i dont need it now

The connector is a little cheap. Had to add a couple of screws and nuts to keep it from coming apart. But, electrically, it works just fine.

Not Genuine.
What I received was not a genuine Meade product. It contained 1 cable and the RJ45/Serial adapter and no instructions. It would not allow communication between either of 2 laptops and my Meade equatorial mount.
