    One step to the ultimate fix...

    I had a 'insufficient egr flow' code P0401 on my 2004 Impala. Obviously, it HAD to be the EGR valve itself. And, yes, the EGR valve was defecitive (carboned up, tightly closed.) But the new EGR was only part of the solution. Had to clean the EGR passages inside the plenum (behind the throttle body) to get the code to clear for good. Would I buy it again? Absolutely. But its only the first step in clearing up the check engine light for P0401 code.
