It does keep the bin closed and was relatively inexpensive so I’m pleased with the strap for those reasons. Unfortunately it did not deter the dog walker who deposits dog poo bags in my bin. They just unclipped the cord, threw in the dog mess and fitted the cord back again. Short of a padlock I’m not sure what will deter that sort of behaviour.

Easy to open and close (from my side inside the garden) and from the street you'd think there's a lock, when there isn't!
